Life Insurance

Life insurance is a protection for your family in the case of unforeseen death. It is essentially a contract with an insurance company that, in exchange for premium payments, your family will receive a lump sum payment (a death benefit) upon the insured’s death. A life insurance policy is customarily selected based on the requirements and goals of the insured and their family.  It is primarily used for  income replacement or estate preservation.

Term life insurance will provide protection for a specific period of time and is typically the least expensive and best value.  It is typically used for income replacement over a set term of years [Typically 5, 10, 15, 20 & 30 year terms].

Permanent insurance (whole life and universal life) provides lifetime coverage and is often times used for, estate planning, second to die, and strategic tax planning

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.I Timothy 5:8

Long-Term Care Insurance

Long- Term Care

LTC services are not just for the ederly;  Infact, anyone who’s been in an accident or is suffering from a debilitating illness may also require 24-7 care.  THe reality is that 40% of patients receiving LTC are actually under 65 years old.

The median cost for a home-health aide for an eight hour day is more than $49,000 a year, while a private room nursing home facility has a cost in excess of $98,000. There is no end in sight to the increasing costs as people are living longer while the cost of health care continues to sky-rocket! [Genworth 2017 Cost of Care Survey]

If structured properly, LTC Insurance is coverage that can provide for Home Care, Assisted Living, Formal Nursing Home or even Adult Day Care.

Disability Insurance

Disability or Income Replacement Insurance is intended to replace a large portion of a working person’s income when a disability  [illness or accident] prevents them from working.  It does not cover medical care or long-term care services but rather a percentage of income lost due to these situations (typically 60%). It is, unfortunately, the least purchased of all insurances but the most important because a person is more prone to become injured or ill and unable to work; rather than dying.

Short-Term Disability is typically coverage for 3 – 5 years and is the most affordable.

Long-Term Disability is the most robust form and typically covers a person for a term longer than 5 years with a maximum to age 65.

FACT:  95% of all disability accidents happen outside of the workplace:  Only 5% are covered by Worker’s Compensation [Council for Disability Awareness, Long-Term Disability Claims Review, 2014]

Let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need….Ephesians 4:8
